PSAT/NMSQT for Juniors on October 16, 2019

Picture
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a standardized test administered by the College Board and cosponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) in the United States. Approximately 3.5 million students take the PSAT/NMSQT each year.  The scores from the PSAT/NMSQT are used to determine eligibility and qualification for the National Merit Scholarship Program.

When you take the PSAT/NMSQT, you’re automatically screened for the National Merit® Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.
For more information, visit NMSC's website or see the Official Student Guide to the PSAT/NMSQT or the Guide to the National Merit® Scholarship Program (for educators). The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) is a cosponsor of the PSAT/NMSQT.

Juniors will be taking the PSAT at Rochester High the morning of Oct. 16th with the pre-administration on Oct. 10th during 3rd hour. All juniors should plan on attending school both days.

CollegeBoard has shipped to us Student Guides that have PSAT/NMSQT information, test taking advice and tips and an official practice test.  These will be distributed through Government and Econ classes.  If you child is not in one of these classes, they can pick up a student guide in the counseling office.
