SPOTLIGHT ON INSTRUCTION

Mr. Lewis teaches, Architecture, Engineering, Mechanical Drafting and Woodworking at RHS. He is also a member of Michigan Industrial Education Society (MITES). Mr. Lewis’s class attended the MITES 91st annual Student Competition and Professional Development Conference. Students in his classes that are in a level 2 or higher get to choose their MITES project from the different categories and levels provided by MITES.  Students’ projects are judged by industry professionals who rate the projects according to the rules they were entered in. Due to timing and snow days this year, only 8 projects were able to compete both at regional and state competition. Of the 8 projects, 4 of the woods projects placed in the top 10 of their respective categories at the State level. Mr. Lewis is proud of his students for their hard work and achievements. A student in one of his classes received a Divisional C Grand Award, the first Divisional Grand Award in the woodworking category Mr. Lewis has received.
