 OSTC Update

Picture
Dear OSTC Parents,
The Oakland County Health Division has changed the COVID-19 Risk Determination Level for Oakland County to an "E" category, the highest risk level on their Guidance for In-Person Instruction chart. A level E risk determination means that there are 150 or greater cases per million with a 20 or greater percent positivity rate.
Due to the significant increase and prevalence of COVID-19 in Oakland County (Risk Level "E" - Highest Risk category) and the presence of active COVID-19 cases in our sending district schools, the four Oakland Schools Technical Campuses (NE, NW, SE, SW) are returning to virtual instruction for all of our students effective November 3, 2020. Students will return to the same virtual platform and learning experience through the entire month of November that they experienced the last eight weeks.  Additional information and updates regarding future instructional delivery models will be provided as we navigate these unprecedented times.
In the meantime, please continue to follow all COVID-19 health and safety recommendations from the Oakland County Health Division and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):
  • Stay home if you’re sick, or have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face covering when around others.
  • Put distance between yourself and other people (at least 6 feet).
  • Clean your hands often, either with soap and water for 20 seconds or a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Clean your hands after throwing away the tissue.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently-touched objects and surfaces daily.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Winter Tryout Schedule

Athlete Checklist
A sports physical must be on file in the athletic dept or turned into your coach on the first day of practice/tryout.  Physicals turned in during the 2019-20 school year are considered valid for the 2020-21 school year provided they were dated April 15-2019 or more recent.  For those athletes with a physical on file from last school year, a health questionnaire form must be filled out by the parent/guardian and turned into the coach on the first day of practice/tryouts.  Click here to print out the health questionnaire

If any questions on the questionnaire are answered with a “yes”, the student athlete then must get a new physical before allowed to participate.

Before each practice and tryout session, each athlete will be asked to fill out a Google Covid survey via their mobile device which will then be followed by an onsite temperature check conducted by the athletic trainer, coach or Athletic Director.  Athletes with positive symptoms or a temperature higher than 100.3 should not attend practice and will be discreetly removed from activity.  Each program’s Varsity head coach will send out the survey link for athletes to fill out.

Rochester Athletic Booster Club Meetings

Booster club meetings will be held on Mondays at 6pm on the following days:
 November 9, 2020:
https://brightbeamnetwork-org.zoom.us/j/9823451920
,December 14, 2020, January 11, 2021, February 8, 2021, March 8, 2021, April 12, 2021, May 10, 2021, & June 14, 2021.

Rochester Athletic Booster Club supports our Falcon athletes, teams and coaches. Boosters has provided over $25,000 in financial assistance to teams just last year!  We had to cancel our only fundraiser in March due to Covid and membership is very low so far this year. This loss of funding will not only impact the 20-21 seasons but the 21-22 seasons as well. Your membership will help ensure that we have the necessary funds to support our Falcons. Please consider becoming a Booster member or giving a tax-deductible donation. Thank you!
