NO SCHOOL NOVEMBER 5 & 6
There is no school for students on November 5 & 6 due to Professional Development and Teacher Record Days.
SPOTLIGHT ON INSTRUCTION
On October 22, therapy dogs and their owners visited Mrs. Dodge’s class during fourth hour. Mrs. Dodge teaches a variety of classes, such as language arts, math, and daily living skills, for students with cognitive impairments at Rochester High School. Most students and peer mentors alike enjoyed the monthly visit with the trained therapy dogs. While students are encouraged to pet the dogs, it is ultimately up to the students to decide how much they would like to interact. These routine visits have resulted in some students who were initially shy becoming more comfortable with the dogs. Overall, therapy dog day was a nice break and gave students some time to relax and pet some really cute dogs!

THE RHS FMB VISITS THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN
The 2018 Rochester HS Falcon Marching Band spent the day in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan. We began with a special tour of “The Big House,” Michigan Stadium, as we went up in the suites, in the Michigan Football locker room, down the tunnel and out on to the field. We then went to the Michigan Marching Band’s rehearsal space and practice field, Revelli Hall and Elbel Field. Thanks to MMB Drum Major Kelly Bertoni & MMB Director Dr. John Pasquale for being such incredibly gracious hosts. We finished the night at Pizza House, where we were joined by current MMB students & FMB alums Sydney Treichel, Lauren Nasiadka & Katie Derkacz and current UM students & FMB alums Erik Williams & Vanessa Karagounis.
