OSTC Update
Dear OSTC Parents,
The Oakland County Health Division has changed the COVID-19 Risk Determination Level for Oakland County to an "E" category, the highest risk level on their Guidance for In-Person Instruction chart. A level E risk determination means that there are 150 or greater cases per million with a 20 or greater percent positivity rate.
Due to the significant increase and prevalence of COVID-19 in Oakland County (Risk Level "E" - Highest Risk category) and the presence of active COVID-19 cases in our sending district schools, the four Oakland Schools Technical Campuses (NE, NW, SE, SW) are returning to virtual instruction for all of our students effective November 3, 2020. Students will return to the same virtual platform and learning experience through the entire month of November that they experienced the last eight weeks. Additional information and updates regarding future instructional delivery models will be provided as we navigate these unprecedented times.
In the meantime, please continue to follow all COVID-19 health and safety recommendations from the Oakland County Health Division and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) News
Learning during the time of a pandemic has proven tricky for all, especially affecting our Special Education (SE) students. Parents have gained a higher level of understanding and appreciation for the process of educating our children, beyond what already existed amongst our children’s teams, as we now are hands-on like never before. This unexpected mode of learning is ‘new’ to all - students, teachers, and parents alike! We encourage every parent struggling to support their children with IEPs or 504s to reach out to Michigan Alliance for Families, and look into the many free offerings of webinars in support of SE parents during this time. (michiganallianceforfamilies.org) As always, we also encourage you to stay in touch with the PAC for news! Find us on Facebook at: Rochester PAC.

Winter Tryout Schedule
Boys basketball tryouts and practices will begin the week of November 16th. In order to practice and tryout all athletes must complete the following checklist detailed below, please ask your coach or the athletic department if you have any questions. Athletic Director Dean Allen can be reached via email at dallen@rochester.k12.mi.us or via office phone at 248-726-5414.
Athlete Checklist
A sports physical must be on file in the athletic dept or turned into your coach on the first day of practice/tryout. Physicals turned in during the 2019-20 school year are considered valid for the 2020-21 school year provided they were dated April 15-2019 or more recent. For those athletes with a physical on file from last school year, a health questionnaire form must be filled out by the parent/guardian and turned into the coach on the first day of practice/tryouts. Click here to print out the health questionnaire If any questions on the questionnaire are answered with a “yes”, the student athlete then must get a new physical before allowed to participate.
Before each practice and tryout session, each athlete will be asked to fill out a Google Covid survey via their mobile device which will then be followed by an onsite temperature check conducted by the athletic trainer, coach or Athletic Director. Athletes with positive symptoms or a temperature higher than 100.3 should not attend practice and will be discreetly removed from activity. Each program’s Varsity head coach will send out the survey link for athletes to fill out. MASKS ARE REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES
