Mock Election

Picture

Attention Falcons! Social Studies National Honor Society is holding a Mock Election using Google Forms! We have recreated a local ballot and want to see what the students of RHS think should be elected at all levels of government.  We are hoping for a large turnout from all of our students as we stress the importance of making their voice, and vote, heard.  Thank you!

PTSA Needs Your Help!

Help your RHS PTSA meet our “early bird” membership goal by October 30th and not only can we earn a much needed $250 from the Michigan PTA, but one of our very own RHS administrators will get a chance to DUNK DR. SHANER. It's easy to JOIN TODAY and spread the word.

Thanks to Dr. Shaner for being a good sport and participating in this Rochester Community PTA Council-sponsored contest to support all our local PTA/PTSAs. Support our schools, support our students, and watch the broadcast of Dr. Shaner in the dunk tank!

Your RHS PTSA has a NEW EMAIL ADDRESS: rochesterptsa@yahoo.com
Please use this new email address to contact any/all Board members with any questions or concerns. Thank you!

Prospect Meetings

Michigan State University will be conducting Oakland County virtual prospect meetings via Zoom Webinar specifically for Oakland County Schools. Our students are welcome to attend any session. The links to the RSVP page are after each date.

These sessions will take place on:
  • Alternative Date: Wednesday, October 28 at 7:00 pm, Sign Up HERE

New this year, MSU is participating in MCAN’s College Application Drive. This means they will be waiving the fee if a student applies from now until Oct16. The student needs to indicate they plan to use a waiver at the beginning of the Common or Coalition application (or end of their MSU Application). Students will need to use the code MSU1855.

Return to In-Person Instruction

RCS welcomes students back to the buildings from Rochester Community Schools on Vimeo.

As Rochester Community Schools begins to welcome students and staff back to the buildings, a hybrid structure will be utilized to decrease the density by approximately 50 percent in each school. Students will be divided into two cohort groups, A and B, with one cohort attending school in-person each day and the other cohort learning asynchronously at home. Synchronous remote learning will take place on Wednesdays for all students in both cohorts. A full day of in-person instruction will appear 45 minutes shorter so teachers have time to connect with the cohort learning at home. Information about cohort groups and transportation will be provided next week. We anticipate cohorts being grouped alphabetically.
  • Oct.28  Classes 1-3 Asynchronous (Cohort A)
                         Classes 1-3 In-Person (Cohort B)
  • On October 29 9th, 10th & 11th grades will be PSAT testing from 7:30am - 11:30am
    • NO SCHOOL for 12th Graders
  • There will be no changes for those students enrolled in the RCS Virtual Campus.
  • Early childhood special education sessions will be scheduled by the teacher.
Please note, there will be a full day schedule on October 9th, not a half day as shown previously in the school calendar.

Keeping up with their kindness, Key Club volunteers helped out RAYA with a  pumpkin/ cider fundraiser.

Thursday morning teachers, administration and support staff came into their work space to find pumpkins with encouraging notes attached to them.
The Staff Appreciation Committee lead by Megan Loren wanted to let the staff know how much they are appreciated.

Rochester Athletic Booster Club Meetings

Booster club meetings will be held on Mondays at 6pm on the following days:
 November 9, 2020, December 14, 2020, January 11, 2021, February 8, 2021, March 8, 2021, April 12, 2021, May 10, 2021, & June 14, 2021.

Rochester Athletic Booster Club supports our Falcon athletes, teams and coaches. Boosters has provided over $25,000 in financial assistance to teams just last year!  We had to cancel our only fundraiser in March due to Covid and membership is very low so far this year. This loss of funding will not only impact the 20-21 seasons but the 21-22 seasons as well. Your membership will help ensure that we have the necessary funds to support our Falcons. Please consider becoming a Booster member or giving a tax-deductible donation. Thank you!
