RAY LAWSON TRIBUTE
HOMECOMING 2018
FMB AT HOMECOMING
Homecoming is the tradition of welcoming back our alumni and celebrating Rochester High School. Rochester HS Falcon Pride was in full force Friday, September 28, 2018 as 50+ band alumni returned to the Rochester to perform with the Falcon Marching Band.
The Koch/Curtin family represented three generations of the RHS Band program: Addison Curtin is the current Assistant Junior Drum Major; her mother, Julie Curtin; and her grandmother, Anita Koch. All three play the clarinet. We also had four members of the Latouf family performing. Alyssa Latouf is a Senior mellophone player. Michelle & Lawrence Latouf conducted “Zoot Suit Riot” during the pre-game performance and played mellophone in the stands. David Latouf played sousaphone in the stands.. We were also honored to have former director of the Rochester Bands from 1983-2007, August J. Thoma, return to conduct the National Anthem. RHS Band Alumni were welcomed after the game for a social gathering and are encouraged to join the FMB Alumni facebook page.
The Falcon Marching Band closed the night with their last performance in the stadium this year, as they performed their “FIRE” show after the game. The FMB has their biggest performance of the year on Wednesday, October 10 at 7:30 pm at Troy High School for the MSBOA District XVI Marching Band Festival. The Festival runs from 6:30-9 pm with 10 local bands performing throughout the night. Tickets are just $3 for adults and $2 for students/senior citizens and can be purchased from Mr. Uhrig. Please come out to support the FMB and wear your Falcon Royal Blue!
