PTA REFLECTIONS 2018
Colleges will be visiting RHS to speak with juniors and seniors about their requirements, scholarships, programs and admissions. This is a great opportunity to meet with the actual rep that often reviews college applications. Colleges are scheduling visits daily, so please check often. Sign up in the counseling office or on the counseling website.
BAND AT THE BROOKSIE
Last Sunday, the Falcon Marching Band Drum Line played for the runners at the 10th annual Brooksie Way Half Marathon. The Drum Line was stationed at Mile 7. Runners waved, cheered, and danced a little as they headed up the long hill on Tienken Road.

NATIONAL MERIT SEMIFINALISTS
This year Rochester High is proud to announce three semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program. These three students were part of the 16,000 students selected in the country from their PSAT/NMSQT score last fall. As juniors these students elected to be considered for the National Merit Scholarship Program, as semifinalists they must complete an application to be considered for a finalist standing. Rochester High School Students who are National Merit Semifinalists are: Afrah Ansari, Katherine Lee, and Anirudhan Ramaseshan. Congratulations to these exemplary students!
Congratulations to our Eight Commended Scholars in the National Merit Scholarship Program! Zahra Ahmed, Meredith Benson, Claire Gleason, Gita Kattimani, Alexandra Lee, Grace Murphy, Amala Nayak, and Lauren Wegener. These students placed in the top 50,000 out of 1,600,000 who entered the 2018 NMSQT.
ROCHESTER HIGH SCHOOL EQUESTRIAN TEAM
Our Rochester High School Equestrian Team riders Kate Faglie (freshman) and Saige Morgan (junior) pulled off an amazing weekend of competition during the last leg of the Michigan Interscholastic Horsemanship Associate District meet. They finished an amazing second place becoming District 2 Reserve Champs! Saige also received special sportsmanship trophy, voted by District coaches, for showing amazing perseverance. RHS Equestrian team is heading for the Ingham County fairgrounds to compete against eight other D division (two rider) teams this weekend. The top two teams from regionals head to the state finals. Wish our Falcons good luck!

BOYS TENNIS RUNNER IN TRAVERSE CITY
The RHS Boys Varsity Tennis Team won runner up at the Great Lakes Tennis Quad in Traverse City on Saturday, September 23. The team competed against Traverse City Central High School, Midland High School and Ludington High School in the tournament.
