NO SCHOOL MARCH 10

There will be no school for students on Friday, March 10 due to Professional Development.

SPOTLIGHT ON INSTRUCTION

Picture

  • Caylan Healy
  • Bachelor of Art in Interdisciplinary Social Science and a Post Bachelor’s in Secondary Education from Michigan State University and a Master of Art in School and Community Counseling from Oakland University
  • Eighth year at RHS; Ninth year teaching
  • Teaches US History, Psychology, and Big History Project
  • Model UN Club Sponsor
Mrs. Healy’s Big History class is currently learning about collective learning in early hunter gatherer societies. On this day they were presenting their group’s assigned hunter gatherer society. For the project each group had to create a menu based on each tribe’s specific location and diet. From that menu each group had to make and bring in a dish to share with the class. Each group also created a mural depicting life in that tribe and create 3 artifacts that may have been used/created by their tribe. Each class had a great time learning about the different hunter gatherer societies in early humans and sampling all of the food!

eBooks on OverDrive are readable from almost any type of device through either a web browser or the OverDrive app and can be downloaded for offline reading. Download our helpful how-to guide here for more details.
In addition, take a look at the collection available through Rochester Hills Public Library's subscription too! Go to http://rochester.OverDrive.com and sign in with your public library card number. Between the two different collections, your child is bound to find his or her next favorite book! And speaking of finding new favorites, try this web site for ideas: http://whatshouldireadnext.com.

SENIORS REQUESTING FINAL TRANSCRIPTS

Final transcripts may be ordered at this time. Just a reminder that every senior must request a final transcript for the school they will be attending AND if it is a Common App school, one must also be sent to Common App. Please request “final transcript” and “HOLD FOR GRADES” in your Parchment account. Once grades are posted for the district, your transcript will be released. We are estimating the earliest will be June 27 for that processing date.
